API Ohio: New Sub HB 6 disappointing, Senate should reconsider new energy policy

From WorldOil.com

COLUMBUS — API Ohio released a statement on the Senate Energy & Public Utility Committee’s new Substitute House Bill 6 (Sub HB 6).

“While Senate leadership has started an important conversation about Ohio’s energy future, they are now headed in the wrong direction. This bill picks winners and losers at the expense of one of the most significant contributors to Ohio’s economic growth over the past decade: natural gas,” said Chris Zeigler, executive director of API Ohio. “70% of Ohioans oppose bailing out nuclear plants—our elected leaders should instead support a competitive electricity market framework which has brought cleaner air and more affordable electricity to Ohioans and reject another attempt to subsidize specific electric generating resources on the backs of Ohio’s taxpayers.”
